Feeding and Management:
Feeding Directions

  1. Feed one block per 20 to 30 head of cattle. (Timid and smaller animals need their share).
  2. Place the blocks where animals congregate (loafing, grazing, feeding and watering areas).
  3. Feed blocks continuously along with plentiful sources of good quality forage or a balanced diet, and clean, fresh water.
  4. Cattle will consume 8 to 12 ounces per head daily based upon a 1,000-pound animal. Twelve ounces of this product will supply 3 milligrams of supplemental selenium.
  5. If additional mineral and vitamin fortification is desired, feed in addition to this block a nutritionally balanced SWEETLIX® mineral/vitamin supplement.
IMPORTANT:  Consumption of this block will vary depending upon the condition of the animals, quality and quantity of forages or diet being fed, seasonal weather conditions, and most importantly, the feeding location of the blocks with respect to loafing, grazing, feeding and watering areas. BOVALYX® 18% DRY COW DOES NOT CONTAIN SALT. PROVIDE SALT FREE CHOICE OR IN THE RATION.
INTRODUCTION PERIOD:  During the first week of use, place the blocks approximately 50-75 feet from loafing and/or watering areas. As cattle become acclimated to the presence of the blocks, some re-positioning may be necessary to achieve proper consumption. Move blocks closer to increase consumption; further away to decrease consumption. If over-consumption occurs for more than two weeks and re-positioning of the blocks does not correct the situation, remove the blocks and evaluate the overall feeding program. DO NOT PROVIDE STARVED ANIMALS FREE ACCESS TO THIS BLOCK.
IMPORTANT:  If over-consumption occurs for more than two weeks and re-positioning of the tubs does not correct the situations, remove the tubs and evaluate the overall feeding program.
WARNING:  This product, which contains added copper, should not be fed to sheep or any species with a lower tolerance to supplemental copper. Product Quality Assurance and Food Safety

Q: Why is molasses so important to Bovalyx self-fed Low Moisture Block supplements?
A: Bovalyx employs Molasses-Based Technology to manufacture one of the highest quality low moisture blocks on the market. Molasses is a highly palatable ingredient that consistently attracts livestock to Bovalyx, with additional properties that consistently attracts livestock to Bovalyx, with additional properties that allow for tightly regulated supplemental intake control.
Q: What regulates intake of Bovalyx Low Moisture Block supplements?
A: The manufacturing process used to make Bovalyx Low Moisture Block supplements involves dehydration of molasses. Dehydrated molasses sugars attract water from the environment and animals' saliva soften a regulated amount of the block over a given time. When matched to the correct stocking rate (see product label for recommended stocking rate) this self-fed system results in a consistent delivery of supplemental nutrition.
Q: How do Bovalyx Low Moisture Block supplements help improve forage utilization?
A: Molasses sugars found in Bovalyx Low Moisture Block supplements are an excellent energy source for fiber-digesting micro-flora. Combining molasses with supplemental protein and other key nutrients results in enhanced populations of these fiber digesting micro-flora, which in turn more efficiently digest lower quality forages. Also, the licking action required to consume Bovalyx Low Moisture Block supplements delivers small, regulated doses of molasses, that can avoid potential metabolic disorders of slugfeeding
