Safety Field Officer
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Support the development and implementation of site-wide safety programs and provide technical guidance
- Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences
- Engage and collaborate with supervisors to ensure compliance with all safety policies with emphasis on site operations
- Create and deliver engaging safety training to educate staff on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain and calibrate safety equipment including air quality and other meters, and confined space rescue equipment
- Keep records of all inspections, calibrations and other maintenance on all safety equipment
- Manage all compliance data in an organized manner
- Submit requisitions for safety materials and services
- Report to Manager, Safety Director and Executives regularly
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene,Business Management, or related degree OR equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate, advise and instruct on various safety-related topics
- Lead effective and meaningful trainings
- Ability to manage files, training, inspections records and other materials required to document compliance with safety and environmental programs.
- Knowledge of federal, Idaho and Oregon state safety requirements
